2016-05-11

31 students from Mathematics, Physics and Engineering fields are selected to participate in a wonderful and unforgettable cultural tour at Oxford University, where medieval noble style mixes with modern styles.

This year, Hertford College designed a literature course (1 credit) for the Zhiyuan students—analyze ‘Macbeth’ written by Shakespeare, appreciate literature and film works, and arrange a series of cultural, artistic, and scientific lectures, so that the students can have an all-round understanding of Oxford University, understand British and European histories, cultures, and societies better. During the 2 weeks’ summer program, Zhiyuan students read about Shakespeare classics, made musical videos, toured around Oxford campus, experienced the unique British society and culture, and learnt knowledge in various fields.

At the same time, Zhiyuan students also attended a series of extracurricular activities: experience “the Best Ghost Tour of Britain”, bar culture of Oxford, visit Magdalen College, Christ Chruch etc., participate in punting, taste the best flavored cookies and ice cream of Oxford, one-day trip to London etc.
